AAF Reserves - Mod Dependent

描述
AAF Reserves Mod

Intro

This mod contains an expansion to AAF Forces, a 'what-if' collection of reservists with outdated equipment. These troops are made to fill the dwindling ranks of AAF frontline units, and therefore do not pack the punch their regular army does.

Contents

Scraping together what gear and equipment they can, the AAF Reserves are primarily made up of armed volunteers using weapons and equipment left over from the region's troubled past: WWII Kar98s and MG-42s can be found in the infantry squads, supported by M5A1 Halftracks, Cromwell IV and M4A2 Sherman tanks. Some Soviet gear is also present, with SU-85 Assault Guns and T-34/85M tanks.

Newly added is the S.99(AL) Fighter. Built on earlier model Bf 109s, these Czech maufactured aircraft serve as the AAF Reserves' strike and anti-helicopter platform. It is ill advised to use this workhorse against enemy fighters, however, due to it's lack of countermeasures or missiles.

Cold War hand-me-downs are also ready to be fielded, with Chieftain, Challenger 1, M41A1 and T-62 tanks ready to provide heavy fire support.

Tactics

AAF Reserves rely on small groups operating independently in order to distract and slow down enemy forces. Primarily a supporting force for the AAF, these units are not intended for prolonged engagements, instead better suited to Hit and Run attacks, ambushes and to bolster positions already held by the AAF. It should also be noted that it is ill-advised to go on the offensive with the Reserves; their, compared to NATO and CSAT, relatively fragile armoured support and lack of modern equipment makes this force far better suited to the supporting role.

The S.99(AL) is best suited to anti helicopter and light bombing missions. Being able to drop bombs individually, carrying LMG and Cannon armaments as well as being relatively agile, the lack of ccountermeasures makes the most viable tactic is to fly low and fast, only popping up from the terrain to strike your target. This tactic is ideally suited to the more hilly regions of Altis, but be careful you don't stray too far South-East, where the terrain is flatter.

Thanks to:

I would like to thank DMorchard for his continued support and infinite amounts of patience in helping me to rebuild this mod, while also providing content suggestions and graciously offering to make this mod a part of his 'Companion Mod' scheme for future updates.

I would also like to thank Disco for the incredible Bf-109 retexture.

Lastly, I'd like to thank the creators of all the mods which are included as dependencies for this project, with a special note to Sabre for his unique additions to the WWII Aviation scene on ArmA 3, we all hope you'll return someday and continue your great work!

Heya, that’s ok, there’s a separate version of the mod that only uses CDLCs that’ll take up less space :)

@SUPERMAWARGOD36
I mean considering what’s being used in current conflicts, I’m not seeing it as all that far fetched… besides, you should check the CDLC version if you wanna get real mad ;)
