It's another thing that was omitted in MW5 (the missile spread stat), so it can be confusing to those paying attention to their stats, rather than those just installing an upgrade and assuming it will do what it says it will do.
If you play using YAML, you may see a difference in the spread statistics if you compare the same weapon either before and after applying, or between different 'Mechs - provided they don't have any unique 'Mech quirks that affects missile spread (as the stat appears in the weapon's tooltip - unlike vanilla).
The Laser Duration upgrade acts in the same way (although it may have tooltips in vanilla. (I can't remember.)).
