@Tobold thank you for commenting the details about this! Just picked up the game again and noticed mod does not work, gonna try to get it working again

@crlfromen The problem appears to be that now in the definition of the "Land" geography in Age of Wonders 4\Content\Title\Packs\Strategic\RMG_Definitions_Strategic.rpk , the game apparently creates "Lakes", and then replaces the lakes with mountains. The geography template overrides don't do anything about that. If you turn off the replacement of lakes to mountains, or replace them with something else, the game crashes on building the map. The only thing that worked for me was to change the percentage of "Lakes" from 20% to a lower value, I chose 5%.

I created a mod called "Land Geography Changed" that does this. It should be compatible with your mod and allow it to work again.

I get mapps with 50% mountains so this mod does NOT work.

IMO the current "land" type should be what a "highlands" map looks like. Otherwise it should be like 15% mountain instead of 30% like it is now. Also small question: does removing mountains completely also remove rivers? I thought they were tied together in game.
