Q-Tech Vanilla Reinforcement 1.8

描述

Welcome to Q-Tech Vanilla Reinforcement. This mod adds WeaponCore armor resistances to the blocks in the Space Engineers base game and DLC packs. The DLC packs are not a dependency and the mod will function without them. Armor resistances will make the blocks stronger against the Energy and Kinetic damage done by all WeaponCore weapons. This mod requires WeaponCore to function, so make sure you have that mod loaded in your world. It is listed as a dependency so it should load automatically.

IMPORTANT: Update information for this mod can be found in the Change Notes tab.

Under no circumstances is this mod to be publicly re-uploaded by anyone for any reason!

The Energy and Kinetic damage resistances in this mod are set to 2. This means that weapons will only do 50% of their normal damage to the affected blocks. It is possible to customise these resistance values using the WeaponCore server configuration file. This file is automatically created when a world loads with WeaponCore in the mod list, and can be found at:

For convenience, clicking here[1drv.ms] will allow you to download a config snippet that can be inserted into the WeaponCore configuration file between the <ArmorOverride></ArmorOverride> tags. You can then change the resistance values to suit your gameplay.

@FatCamper I don't have a Discord but there are plenty of people, users and authors, on the WeaponCore Discord. If you're looking to make all the blocks tougher (increase their defence value) then I have put detailed instructions in the guide linked on this mod's page. The only think you need to change is the resist values of the particular armor set. There are three armor sets; heavy, light, and functional (non-armor blocks). Each can have different resists as well. Putting the code snippet into your server's WC config file in the appropriate place will make your blocks tougher (or weaker if you prefer).

Do you have a Discord? I'm looking for more information since I prefer learning from others rather than bothering authors. I'm trying to extend the duration of battles by increasing the Defense values of all blocks, but I'm unsure if additional code is required or what good starting values might be. Working on a scrapyard server and want to give people extra time to react/run if they engage the wrong AI.

@Eternal Serenity If I'm being honest, probably not. I'd have to learn the entire vanilla+ framework, and I don't even know if it has this particular armor capability which was specifically designed to work with WeaponCore weapons only.

Any chance we could get a vanilla+ version at all?

Damn shame, I'll look into it though

@RaiderLeader666 The closest I came to that was with the Tritanium armor in my Star Trek Mod. I don't have any plans to make any further armor. Maybe with SE2.

Loving the Q-Tech series so far, was wondering though if there was a possibility of ever getting Q-Tech Armor

@black_dragon1230 I can do that; just note that I don't intend doing that with my Star Trek or Battlestar Galactica mods so those will always be separate. But the basic Q-Tech stuff, sure, why not.

(Question) Would you be willing to name it Q-Tech Vanilla Reinforcement so that when searching for Q-Tech mods its in the same spot with all the rest of them? Just something to make navigating the mod list easier.
