You can manually turn off the rolling pin style and change the bgFXID if you want the proper experience in older versions;
On the world map, hit Shift + ~. This will bring up the console. Type "b" (without quotes) and hit enter to enter into build mode. At the top-right there's an icon to "Open zone value editing window." You'll want to uncheck "rollingPinStyle" and then change the bgFXID property to "uwnhOcean" instead of ocean.
If you are using the latest version, though, and it still has black lines across it, can you send me screenshots? I'm on the HG Discord (as Furdabip) if that's easier than attaching them here.
