Electric Locomotives IV-KP

The IV-KP electric locomotive is a DC industrial locomotive built according to the design of the Electromotor plant in the GDR by the Hans Beimler plant (Germany) from 1949 to 1951. Designation IV-KP means "contact, industrial, IV weight category". In the USSR, electric locomotives of IV-KP series started to be built at NEVZ in 1950. Locomotives of domestic production were called the "second version" and were produced not only in the version for the contact network with a voltage of 1500 V (IV-KP1), but also for a voltage of 750 V (IV-KP2).
