Serving as the base for all future ESDF stations the Vanguard class station was built as a multipurpose platform being able to serve both as a starbase or deepspace outpost and trade station.
The Vanguard class station can easily be retrofitted to serve as either a drydock or construction station due to the modular nature of the station.
The Vanguard class can also be built and launched from planets by attaching thrustes on the bottom of the H2 tanks.
