Based on the Dump Truck prop present in many TF2 maps.

This truck was first created in a design sketch by Moby Francke, an artist who was essential in creating TF2’s art style. It appears to be based off of various trucks from the 1940s, though I wasn't able to pin down an exact model that was used for reference. The concept art seems to be based on American advertisements in the 30s-50s. Advertisements at the time were painted, as the quality of colorized photography was still low. The original art has “2” printed on the cab door, while the in-game model has “8”. Both of these are used as stickers. The original concept art for the dump truck uses a mustard yellow-like color, while the in-game prop is more of a dirty orange.

It was modeled and used in the first maps for TF2’s launch. Maps that include this prop include tc_hydro and ctf_2fort.
