The Chandelier - Interstellar Vehicle

描述
"The Final Chandelier" is the proper subtitle

This Revision of 'The Chandelier', updated for 2024 and prosperity. Probably the last I'll ever work on this ship.

The Ship is Inspired in James Powel & Charles R. Pellegrino's Project Valkyrie, from his Sci-Fi novel 'Flying to Valhallah'.

A 12.5Km long spaceship, whose core structure is made from super strong tethers and struts, and core modules, such as the engines and fuel tanks, are located at the aft and front section of the ship, while crew quarters are located far away from them, moving through a railway system that allows it to position itself either at the rear or at the front, depending if the ship is either accelerating or decelerating. For proper 'roleplay', one must use the engines at 25 percent of their power (1.5g). Once it reaches speeds of 0.2c, 100 percent of their power can be used (6g) and stop at 0.89c.

Superficially similar to the original, some core changes are the overall length and the position of the modules. Just like the HMS 'Valkyrie-Class' Fleet, it features Navigation Lights, RCS thrusters, a copy of its command and crew modules, and an Interstellar Dust Shield, which is hidden as a module that can be resized to be made visible with the ship editor.

The ship also features ship editor options for the command and crew modules.
The command modules can be moved with the ship editor, and the crew modules have 3 optional positions:

-'Crew.Spin' (for coasting / while in orbit) <-waiting for animated modules
-'Crew.Foward' (for acceleration)
-'Crew.Backwards' (for deceleration)

These 3 have to be moved in relation to the Command module, and the active one is 'Crew.Open' by default. You can resize it with the editor to 0.01, and resize either the 'Crew.Up' or 'Crew.Down' to 1, depending on if the ship is either accelerating or decelerating.

What happened to the interstellar mod?

At the same time, in the first picture on the page in the Steam Workshop, the cables are visible. Which of the options are you going to leave?

I was pleasantly pleased with the changes in the design of the Chandelier. But why do the rings in the engine design hang in the void? Do you mean that they are connected by thinner cables that are not visible at a great distance?

Thank you so much for providing such feedback! Personally, it seems to me that the previous design, due to a smoother transition, might have been stronger, distributing loads over more nodes. I don't have any engineering education, so I'm just expressing my unfounded opinion on first impression

The sharp cutoff is intentional, as it leaves more empty space for the crew modules.
However though, I do like this criticism, and what this version of the addon allows me to do is quick refits. If the cone feels wrong, I can easily change it, since it is it's own module

The section with fuel tanks and the engine look much better, but, in my opinion, the frame of the first version was somewhat more refined. Now the transition between the cone and the axis has become somewhat rough
