Muckling without mud

A muckling without the mud covering it. It's unknown why a creature would have such a bright color scheme. It can't be for camouflage, as the plants of Kanklith are a dull green color like Earth plants rather than aggressively neon, and it can't be to attract mates, as unlike many animals here on Earth, both male and female mucklings have these colors.
