Hull 124-Mikano Class Armored Cruiser

The Mikano Class Armored Cruisers joined the Yugano Class Protected Cruisers in an era of turmoil and experimentation in Seryu ship design, being a foray into more heavily armored designs. The Mikano was originally planned to carry four 8" guns, but as a result of a rapid arms race was forced to carry an altered armament of four 10" guns. Unlike the Yugano, however, the rushed design process caused the Mikano to rapidly become outdated when compared to more modern cruisers of other navies. Though the Mikano would be somewhat modernized, this process was slow and much less extensive when compared to designs of a similar age in the Seryu fleet. In their current role, the Mikano Class mostly serve as coastal defense and bombardment ships, but they have proven time and time again that though outdated, they are still capable of a good fight.

Ships of the Mikano Class are armed with:

4x 10" Naval Rifles
8x 6" Casemate Naval Rifles
4x 6" Dual Purpose Naval Rifles
9x Type 100 25mm AA cannons
