徐州钟鼓楼

徐州钟鼓楼位于徐州大同街中心。是市级文物保护单位，此楼是一座混合结构的五层方塔形建筑，楼高约20米，建筑面积120平方米。
据《云龙区志》记载，修建此楼本是为了报火警，所以又称“望火楼”。每有火警则以不同的击打钟声表示火灾的方位，以便市民听到前去救火。不过，这“望火楼”从未报过火警，还险些因附近的大火被烧毁。
1932年，大同街铺设了徐州第一条柏油马路，也决定把钟鼓楼的大钟换上新颜。安装时钟的工程于次年冬完成。据了解，此钟为重锤链条式齿轮时钟，四面有瓷砖，罗马字钟面，指针长达一米。六十年代钟面更换为白色油漆玻璃盘面，使用阿拉伯数字，用镂空钢板锉成数字和指针。据钟鼓楼下面的花店老板介绍，大钟后来因年久磨损，保护性地停止了摆动。
钟鼓楼原来有两座钟，一个机械钟，一个铸铁钟，铸铁钟因为年代久远腐蚀的比较厉害，摔坏以后无法再挂，2011年徐州市政府重新仿制一个钟，挂在上面（楼顶），原来的钟准备放在二楼陈展。机械钟是上世纪德国造的，年代久远，已经不准了，修复过后走时准确。 [1]

In 1932, Datong Street paved the first asphalt road in Xuzhou, and it was also decided to replace the big clock of the Bell and Drum Tower with a new look. The installation of the clock was completed in the following winter. It is understood that this clock is a heavy hammer chain gear clock, with tiles on all sides, a Roman clock face and a pointer of up to one meter. In the 1960s, the clock face was replaced by a white painted glass face, and Arabic numerals were used, and numbers and hands were filed with hollowed-out steel plates. According to the florist below the Bell and Drum Tower, the clock stopped swinging protectively because of years of wear and tear.
The Bell and Drum Tower used to have two clocks, a mechanical clock and a cast iron clock. The cast iron clock was badly corroded because of its age, so it could not be hung after it was broken. In 2011, the Xuzhou municipal government copied a clock again and hung it on the top (roof). The original clock is going to be placed in Chen Zhan on the second floor. The mechanical clock was made in Germany in the last century. It is so old that it is no longer allowed. After being repaired, it keeps accurate time. [1]
