[Simfphys-GD] Gaz-3927 "Vodnik"

GAZ-3937 "Vodnik" is a Russian vehicle for transporting people and goods in difficult areas. Provides protection of the crew from small arms. Developed in the Design Bureau of JSC "GAZ". It was manufactured at the Arzamas Machine-building Plant.

Developed by order of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR on the topic "Vodnik". On the same topic in 1988, we developed a floating car, which received the NAMI index-0281. But this car had a completely different layout. The power unit compartment was located in the rear of the body, and the cargo and passenger compartment was located in the middle. This solution made it possible to keep the trim afloat almost independently of the cargo being transported. NAMI-0281 had some external resemblance to the BRDM, curb weight — 2800 kg, number of passengers — 9. Neither NAMI-0281 nor GAZ-3937 satisfied the requirements of the Ministry of Defense stated in the competition (gross weight up to 4000 kg, air transportability by Mi-8 helicopter).
