Frontal Assault Bloody Ridge [Mission]

At nightfall on 12 September 1942, Kiyotake Kawaguchi launched a frontal attack on the American frontline guarding Henderson airfield. The marines knew of the Japanese attack and were able to prepare defensive positions on Lunga Ridge (Later known as Edsons/Bloody Ridge). The Japanese were able to overrun some of the American positions forcing them back but at the cost of heavy caualties.
