Brad Maddox worked his way through WWE developmental territories OVW and FCW before joining the main roster initially as a referee.

After assisting WWE Champion CM Punk defeat Ryback in a Hell in a Cell match, Maddox spent several months attempting to earn a WWE contract as a wrestler.

After falling short becoming a main roster wrestler, Maddox was appointed as the General Manager of Raw in 2013. He served in the role for much of that year before getting a chance to showcase his skills in the ring off and on before his release in 2015.
