In 1998, The Sandman left ECW to sign with WCW. Using the ring name Hak, he debuted as a hardcore wrestler after several vignettes in which he portrayed a snobby former neighbor of ECW rival Raven.

Hak mostly battled with Raven and Bam Bam Bigelow in hardcore matches during his brief WCW run. He was involved in a storyline involving Raven's kayfabe sister Chastity for her WCW release.
