I have gotten input from various people and plan to improve this module a bit more. I plan to change at least the hard mode to normal mode and the current normal mode to easy mode. So the options in v1.0.0 will be the exact opposite of those in later versions.

Looking more, seems there's a mod setting to add "hard mode" in which the mod is apparently both solvable as either masyu or inverted masyu? which is cool, but in my opinion that should just be the base module, not a setting

The "tense" situation is that the colors are swapped. That is it.
Not a very good first module since it seems all you've done is swap two materials and called it a day.
