apparently its a 'soviet bootleg of adidas branding' that ccaught traction in the olympics when the USSR were allowed to use adidas track suits for olympic sports, its a whole rabbit hole and thats the 'in a nutshell' version of the explamation, i rather not bore you with all the smaller details.
