Electric units 470 were prototypes of units for suburban transport used by Czech Railways. The units consisted of two driving, partly low -floor 470 series and the three -storey 070 series cars. The units were replaced by a more modern and reliable 471 series.
The 470 series began to evolve after a long pause in a row of 460, because these units were not sufficient for their single -storey construction, like the 560 series. The development of the new unit was very needed and was also included among the state's technical development tasks. Two prototypes of the 470 -storey electric unit were produced by the Studénka wagon in 1991. Their original designation should have been EM 496.0 or EM 499.0, but neither was used because the marking system changed during their production.
The wagon cabinet was single -storey for motor cars for weight reasons. Between two boarding areas there was a large -scale partition for passengers (64 seats). The 070 series inserted cars also had two boarding spaces, including two large -scale passenger compartments and two smaller partitions above the chassis. The toilet has always been in the boarding areas.
Each of the front motor cars had a power of 1,104 kW and the operating weight was 62 t. The five -car unit had a length of around 130 meters and the weight of 317 tons. It offered 602 seats and 784 seats. The maximum speed of the unit was 120 km/h.
