PorkBean's Kingdom of Ruthenia

The Kingdom of Ruthenia, or Galicia-Volhynia, was a medieval state in Eastern Europe which existed from the 12th to 14th centuries. United by Roman the Great, Ruthenia saw frequent military attempts by Poland and Hungary to divide the territory between themselves until the arrival of the Mongols. Roman's son, Danylo, would play a key part in preserving Ruthenia by carefully balancing submission to the Khan with increased informal ties with the West.

Leader: Danylo I

Rex Russiae: Newly trained Mounted Units gain +1 Movement and Pillage for free if you have a Declared Friend with a larger army. Trade Routes to Civilizations following the same Religion yield Culture.

Smerd: Cheaper and weaker than the base Unit, but gains increased Defensive Strength per Civilization with which you share a Trade Route. Earns Double XP if beginning a turn on a Farm, Pasture, or Khutir. Replaces the Crossbowman.

Khutir: Must be built on flat land. +1 Food and +1 Faith, and will improve any Pasture or Farm Resources on this tile. If you have a Declared Friend with a stronger army, provides +5% Production towards Mounted Units when worked. Unlocks at Horseback Riding.
