Electrical
Her electrical grid is powered by a nuclear reactor that can supply up to 20000 kW. The grid is divided into multiple smaller grids to make sure nothing blows or catches fire (with proper maintenance).

Both Electricals are symbolic and run on the same grid directly from the reactor and are only used to group the other grids. Before the power from the reactor gets to the separate grids it first goes through a battery array for that grid. The arrays serve as buffers, a means to catch power spikes and to give the grid power (for a short while) while the reactor is powering up.

Combat
The Karel Doorman herself is equipped with in total of 6 turret hardpoints (3 small, 3 large) and 4 electrical discharges and 1 depth charge tube.
Standard, she comes with 2 flakes on top and 2 chainguns underneath.
That being said the Karel Doorman self is NOT meant to engage in combat, that's where her carrier capabilities come in.

The Karel Doorman comes equipped with 2 modified Dugongs, here in lies her true combat capabilities. The Dugons are modified to be able to be remotely controlled and can be blown up on demand if the situation requires it.

Balancing
I tried to make her as balanced as possible, while she can be extremely aggressive with her 2 Dugongs and her own weapons it should be noted that she has quite large blind spots, is slow, and need constant maintenance.

Lore


With the increasing pirate threat, there were plans for new anti-pirate submarines, but they kept being delayed because of the limited resources available. This changed when the Coalition Intelligence kept getting more and more chatter about pirate fleets. To combat this new threat the Coalition put out a request for new submarine ideas. While they got a lot of submissions for faster, stronger and more aggressive attack vessels one stood out, a transport ship.

The idea is that the current submarines are more than capable of dealing with pirate ships, so to deal with a pirate fleet you just need to come with a fleet yourself. But to get all ships ready and going would take too much time, but if you could ready one ship and have 3 ships ready to go...

Eventually, the admiralty went for the transport ship because of two reasons, the combat capabilities and the cost, yes she may be the most expensive ship of all the submissions, but at the end of the day she would be the cheapest since older submarines could be reused as new attack subs for her and there would be a much smaller need of these type of vessels to accomplish the same goal.

While the first one was almost done, the Coalition Intelligence intercepted a message that one of the first pirate fleets was on its way to stop the project, as the plans had leaked of what the Coalition was up to. The captain was ordered to move out as fast as possible and intercept the pirate fleet. Luckily she was almost ready except for some minor tasks and the painting of the hull which kept getting delayed because the supply of paint wouldn't reach the station. The captain ordered the workers to find all the paint they could and just mix until they had enough. The paint they could find the most of was white and red, which resulted in the now infamous pink colour of the hull.

Plans


This is my first ever sub, so all feedback is welcome. So far as a first version it think she is done, that being said I have plans to cut out a lot of light, redo the electrical grid in the front, and to make her overal less laggy.
