B42 Note: Only the vanilla version is available. Additionally, I updated the crafting recipe for putting ammo into boxes to allow crafting in the dark. Another note, I took a while to update this mod because the crafting animation used to lock you in place. Currently, as of April 27, the animation lock is fixed. However, B42 is an unstable beta, and it's possible a future update breaks the animation again. If B42 gets a new update, I suggest doing a quick test.

This is a basic mod that edits the crafting recipes for opening ammo boxes to allow you to walk while opening ammo boxes. It also allows you to put ammo back into boxes while walking. Running and sprinting will still interrupt the action.

Includes 7 versions to support the many gun mods that exist :)
1) Vanilla
2) Arsenal/Brita
3) Firearms B41
4) Vanilla Firearms Expanded
5) CJ Firearms Expansion
6) Guns of 93
7) Rain's Firearms

For those using the non-vanilla versions, make sure that this mod loads AFTER Arsenal's/B41/VFE/CJ's mod. Otherwise, this mod will be overwritten and do nothing. Have trouble with the mod order? Usually, switching this mod off and then back on will fix it.

I run a mod pack of around 100 mods. I spent hours loading and reloading the game with a different subset of mods each time to figure out this single mod was the needle in the haystack that has been crashing zomboid every time I try to start a new sandbox. Very frustrating, hope this comment helps out or prevents others having the same issue (present as of build 42.12.3 on 12/8/2025).

This mod crashes new saves(In my case).
I asked Gemini 3 pro with console.txt and figured it out in 2 prompts. I would've had to trial and error my way through 180 mods. But found it in minutes. Of course Gemini 3 caught more than what's necessary(it flagged KI5 mods also). But it mentioned something about ammo addons that got me looking and I found the culprit.
