About

These are a set of personal patches for mainly for my own games.

Originally they were for the official New Ratkin Plus mod, but due to different opinions on how to address the gene problem I decided to just work on my separte patches here for my own use and for anyone else who may stumble upon here.

Some of these patches may make it into the official mod eventually. If you don't like one of the patches, feel free to make a local copy of this mod and then remove the patch's associated file. (See the files below)

Changes

[Patches/RatkinGenePatches.xml]
- Ratkins cannot have genes
ㅤ• Makes Ratkins utilize the predefined hair colors
ㅤ• Makes Ratkins utilize the predefined skin colors
ㅤ• Best modpack compatibility (no missing textures)
- Ratkins can only breed with other Ratkins
ㅤ• In order to maintain no genes, also logical (imo)

[Patches/IdeologyPatches.xml]
- Removed the following ideology precepts
ㅤ• Nudism precepts (No clothing, full clothing+hat)
ㅤ• Forced apparel precepts
ㅤㅤ□ No more burka ratkin colony
ㅤ• Xenotype Precepts
ㅤㅤ□ Since the Ratkin faction only has Ratkins

[Patches/ChildrenFixes.xml, Source/RatkinPatching.cs]
- Ratkin Children Fixes
ㅤ• Ratkin babies become child at age 3 (instead of 4)
ㅤㅤ□ Since Learning is hard coded to start at age 3
ㅤ• Learning `growthAges` Changed
ㅤㅤ□ From Default (7, 10, 13) -> (6, 9, 12)
ㅤㅤ□ Fixes Ratkins not being able to learn at age 12+,
ㅤㅤ then getting a late grow moment at age 13
ㅤ• Learning Rate for growth stage 1 increased 3 -> 4
ㅤㅤ□ Mainly to balance since Ratkins have one less year
ㅤㅤ in the first growth stage
ㅤ• Fixed growthTier tooltip saying ages (7, 10, 13) for Ratkins

- Misc Fixes (RatkinPatching.cs)
ㅤ• Patched StockGenerator_Mercenary use of
ㅤ [PawnGenerationRequest] so it does not error

Okay. The "can't have genes" is a HUGE deal for me. Because I got sick of seeing pig or elephant Ratkin popping up.

@Gota If a biotech only version ever happened there'd probably be a HAR fork uploaded to workshop (similar to the Naki HAR and Naki Xenotype race mods), so this mod would still be compatible with the HAR version.

Regarding the other patches, I'd probably just upload a new mod as any xenotypes for Ratkins would not work too great with this mod.

@赤座あかりoriginal mod has been patched to deal with vanilla texture genes.
This mod removes them entirely (also removing skill genes)

There are some other patches here, but you should be fine to use the original

Would love to have ratkin as a xenotype, but that's way outside my skillset rn :P

Yes, the point of this mod is to fix some of the graphical issues that occur due to playing with both the New Ratkin Plus mod and biotech dlc
