Muzzle flash and bullet casing particles aren't misplaced, they are just positioned for max FOV.
And yes, I know it's not held by the magazine but it looks cooler that way.

-That's pretty much it, it just decreases how many bullets you can shoot before reloading. Other than that it's literally just for the looks.
