Deleting select provinces with the editor in a range (say, from y=0 to y=200) and the adjusting the image, should work too.
The other way is to edit the map to change the starting/ throne locations.
In both cases you may need to copy the files in a separate file (from subscriptions by Steam into user/appdata/roaming/dominions5/maps) and with backup, because starting positions are added into the .map after editing something and saving inside Dom5.
But in any case the number of thrones does not affect that, the throne locations are just preferred, not exclusive .
Feel free to DM me or comment which is the affected nation, to correct in it future versions :)
Any idea what I might be doing wrong, here?
cool map tho i am also a big fan of the idea to split up the map
btw I did a test run (until turn 40) for Hellenika 2.18, and it takes about 15 minutes to pass the Random Events turn phase, on my new (late'22) PC. Indeed speed-breaking, but not game-breaking, at least :P
