I've been looking at both mods, and I'm wondering if there's a simple modification that can be made to Brom's tanning reaction to grab up scale as well as the skin globs.
EDIT: OK, that was easier than I thought. In this mod, just add the following to creature_scale_leather_vattic.txt under the [SELECT_MATERIAL:SCALE] section. The most important is the Reaction class bit. The rest is stockpile and such.
[STOCKPILE_GLOB]
[DO_NOT_CLEAN_GLOB]
[BUTCHER_SPECIAL:GLOB:NONE]
[REACTION_CLASS:SKIN]
No shade on you OR Broms, just noting the incompatibility. Time to re-gen worlds AGAIN. XD
Not in a simple way I don't think. I believe you can make changes to creatures without needing to generate a new world, but I don't know enough about how it applies mods now there is workshop integration.
It has no impact on butchery yields. Most weird leather will only be brought from off site as you say. One thing I forget is whether fish cleaners produce scales as waste. Fishing was kind of broken for so long I've not used it in years.
@Llamageddon:
Just saw you released your own interesting leather balancing mod. Will have to look into how it works and see if our mods are compatible. Does it mean you can actually get leather when butchering smaller creatures?
The first version of this mod I uploaded still contained a test reaction that spawned leather. I released a patch not long after that disabled the reaction. The game should have offered to update the next time you opened a save.
Releasing a patch that removes it entirely would require a world re-gen. There are issues with the Steam Workshop update process currently. It will tell you a new version of a mod is available and compatible with your current world/save when it actually isn't. To get around this I de-listed the original version and uploaded this one. This one is without that reaction.
It still should have offered to install the patch for the de-listed version you have installed. If not please reach out and I will help you get it sorted when I finish work tonight, or tomorrow at any time that is convenient. I'll accept your friend request on here.
