Okay, here's a solution for y'all issues since whoever did the mod will probably not bother to fix it.

You have to play on a local or singleplayer server.
Yes, that's the only solution that I can give.

The animations will ALWAYS work on a singleplayer or local server but won't ever work on a multiplayer server - Why? I don't know, I have no experience in creating mods.
