Subclass: Ghoulcaller

描述

In the days of old, when the Forgotten Civilization still stood, there was a god like no other. His name was Ophois, the ruler of the underworld and the protector of the dead. He was a serpentine being, his snake-like head a symbol of his deadly and mysterious nature. Ophois was the patron of the mummification process, ensuring that the souls of the deceased were properly prepared for their journey to the afterlife. He watched over the funerary rites and protected the graves.

In the harsh lands of Xahn,

a belief in Ophois is still widespread among both nomads and glittering merchants controlling oases and cities. The art of embalming is well known in this land; many tombs and grave markers dot the landscape and it is a common folk that toils endlessly to erect these great monuments for the powerful.

The ruling caste of nomad clans, the merchants of the cities, and the priests of a multitude warring sects and cults of Ophois only truly unite when the faithful of Seven visits them with swords, lies, and fire.

Ophois being an ancient god of the underworld, patron of sacrifice, serpent-god, and bringer of plagues - granted his divine bloodline to the nomads of Xahn, and in turn, they need to appease him by performing sacrifices, singing hymns, and caring for the dead.

In these forsaken lands of the far east of Folkswave, one of the holiest places are the halls of Amehnokt, where the art of Ghoulcalling is being taught. Ghoulcallers, being priests, scholars and alchemists in equal measure are tasked with the holy mission to preach the word of Ophois supremacy, perform funerary rites, and more often than not, dabble in ritualistic necromancy.

Because when the end is close, Ophois wills that the hallowed dead awakens from their slumbers to protect the faithful.

There are many taboos in Xahn, like robbing the grave or poisoning the well. But using necromancy to prolong one's life is considered the biggest of them all. Today still like thousand of years ago, the allure of eternal life tempts many.

A new subclass for Philosopher - Ghoulcaller - who excels at rituals, afflictions, and alchemy. It has two secondary distinct perks trees that are mutually exclusive and a long main perk tree that ends with the ability to become either powerful summoner or transition into lichdom.

24 new cards for Ghoulcaller exclusive use

5 new allies with custom graphics

Three new enemies for Child of Ophois faction

A new background

A new PC portraits/avatars depicting heretical ghoulcaller-turned-lich

All new cards can be viewed in the Player's Handbook by typing Ghoulcaller into search.

New enemies can be checked in Enemy Compendium under Children of Ophois faction.

New cards and allies doesn't show up during other class playthrough, as to not pollute their card decks.

Immersion Suggestion: After picking 'Lichedom' perk, switch your PC avatar to new undead liche ragdoll. You can do that by clicking your current avatar in character screen 'C'.

@tarrand54
I tried to see if it's possible, and unfortunately - while I can add Ghoulcaller+ starting kit and it will have access to new cards and base (philosopher) class perks, the limitations of the modding framework make it missing new class perks. I spoke with Raven and it doesn't seem to be a way to add class perks to starting kit.

You can still multiclass with Ghoulcaller, but you're limited to picking it as main class.

Could we please have a way for it to work with multiclass

@Zagzagal
Thanks for the heads up.

The mod have a Ancient Ruins as requirement, so when subscribing you will get an warning pop-up if you don't have relevant DLC installed. Steam will still allow you to subscribe though.

I cannot provide the cards from DLC as part of this mod (like Ophois Slave, but also Embalming and few others) - Ophois theme is straight extension of DLC content, and this subclass builds upon the cards from it to such a degree, that I'd say its unplayable without them.

You can try my other subclass mod - Fallen Champion - which works with the base game.

Looks good, but the Ophois Slave card is not showing on a vanilla install. I have no DLC installed,
