With the landing gears blueprints, its a little more involved, you need to add the hinges and rotors to "safety 1" and "safety 2" but for the ramp i dont think i implemented any safety features, you should just need to move the panel wherever and link the corresponding timers to the buttons.

that clarifies it, thank you.
Looking at the model I didn't see a corresponding merge block for the "closed" state (visible in the open anyways) so that only furthered my confusion
I'll try out your suggestions, and see if I can implement it myself (maybe make some ridiculous super carrier)
If you have the gate as a "station" merging doesnt always occur, it seems it needs some "movement" or help, this seems to be a limitation in the game engine as there is nothing preventing the gate from merging, a block update is all it needs to "fix it" so try placing a block and delete it, and that should trigger the game to merge it.
you can also try building the ramp on a ship or placing some thrusters, batteries, gyroscopes and a seat, then convert it to a ship and it should work just fine as long as your not standing 100% still.
The ramps are not airtight if its not merged to the bay (aka, if its moving its not airtight.)
In the gates retracted state (ramps folded, gates up), the merge blocks toward the stern/rear of the bay do not merge with anything, hence the gate is bouncing on its pistons. Is this airtight still? Or is this an oversight?
I tried reading the P.S. but I'm new and have trouble understanding
