Dwarven Steel

描述

Normal steel, while superior to iron and anything those dirty forest hippies can even dream of crafting, is still full of impurities. With SUPERIOR DWARVEN STEEL, however, those impurities are further removed, resulting in a steel that is superior to all metals, save for divine metals gifted by the gods themselves (Divine metals and Adamantine)

With a special workshop, the Dwarven Crucible, you too can create this near-divine metal and craft superior weapons. This will, of course, take more flux and coal to help remove the impurities. Dwarven steel is created using pig iron bars, steel bars, flux and coal in addition to coal used for fuel.

Caveats / Bugs / Issues:
============================================================
* Dwarven Steel can only be used to craft ammo and weapons
* Dwarven Steel is no more superior to normal Steel when used for blunt weapons (Hammers, maces, mauls, etc...)
* Dwarven Steel is not superior to Adamantine
* This mod allows your dwarves to forge some foreign weapons (Scimitar, Long Sword) which are not normally available to your dwarves.
* Weapons may not show up on sprites; This would require overwriting the current graphics tokens in order for them to display; I will be adding a submod that will add this, in addition to other weapon / armor types in the future, but this WILL interfere with other mods that add new weapon sprites for the base races (Humans, Dwarves, Kobolds, Goblins, Elves)

I'm assuming you can't, but is it perhaps possible to tell the game to just use the normal steel sprites? It might not be the perfect solution, but at least it'd show up without causing interference with other mods.

Is there something special to get the Crucible building to show up on the building menu? I've crated a new world with one mod active (dwarven steel) and it is not showing up on the building list

What's funny to me is that IRL damascus steel gained its properties *from* the *specific types* of impurities in the ore they were using. Geology is destiny, as dwarves know in their bones!

Still, neat mod.

Imagine what would happen if you use adamantine.

so i tried out mainly the longswords in my current game.
one darf killed a werebeast in 1 hit by chopping its head off.
another dwarf diced about 20 bodyparts in a row off off goblins.
it realy is a lot of fun to use

The biggest difference is the sharpness of blades that can be made; About 3-4 times sharper and thus better for making swords, daggers, axes.

Love the Idea. can we get the actual stats for comparison
