first of all: Happy New Year! Let's hope it will be a good one.

And what better way to celebrate the start of the new year than with the Marble GP of Kiribati!

The simple reason for that: Kiribati is located right at the international date line - west of it. That means it has the time zone of the countries that are already a bit further in terms of daytime. And with no other country closer to the west side of the date line than Kiribati, this makes the country the first of every single country on planet earth that will celebrate a year change. Yes, even when Australia and New Zealand start the new year, the people in Kiribati might already get ready for breakfast.

This alone is enough characterization to be featured in a marble track. It leads you around an island at night time with many of new year's fireworks going off into the sky.
