Trajann's Legendary Dragons

Here's an idea I've wanted to do for a while. This mod adds 12 new dragons to the game, available for ALL factions!

So what the heck is this? Well I love dragons, but I think it's kinda lame that they're mostly locked to the Elven factions. So I thought it would be fun to create dragons that everyone can use, and that's what this mod does! All factions can build landmarks at certain locations to "awaken" these dragons. The Wood Elves have different locations than the rest of the races, since they build settlements differently. I tried to place the landmarks around the world in places that somewhat made sense, you won't be recruiting a zombie dragon in Lustria or anything. These dragons are VERY powerful, with each having juiced stats and a unique passive ability. They're very expensive however, and won't benefit from any unit tech (i.e. red lines). So the only thing that buffs them is army-wide skills, but they honestly don't need any real buffs as they absolutely dominate in battle.

The Dragons
Ormr, The Spirit of Ice: A frost wyrm with an aura that reduces speed, armour and melee defence for all enemies around him.
Recruited At:
-The Gryphon Woods for Wood Elves
-The Monolith of Katam for everyone else

Eborsisk, The Bringer of Ruin: A Chaos dragon with an aura that grants flaming attacks, magical attacks and immune to psychology for all friendlies around him.
Recruited At:
-The Forest of Gloom for Wood Elves
-The Daemon's Gate for everyone else

Nagendra, The Eternal Decay: A zombie dragon that has a mortis-engine effect as well as very high healing.
Recruited At:
-The Haunted Forest for Wood Elves
-Castle Drakenhof for everyone else

Volos, The Burning Flame: A sun dragon with an aura that grants charge bonus, speed and vigour loss reduction to all friendlies around her.
Recruited At:
-Oreon's Camp for Wood Elves
-Khemri for everyone else

Apophis, The Warden of Light: A moon dragon with an aura that grants unbreakable, melee defence and missile block chance to all friendlies around him.
Recruited At:
-Waterfall Palace for Wood Elves
-Kislev for everyone else

Vermithrax, The Endless Shadow: A black dragon that has a scaling effect which grants melee attack, and both ap and base weapon damage to her only.
Recruited At:
-The Witchwood for Wood Elves
-Naggarond for everyone else

Sirrush, The Radiant Protector: A forest dragon with an aura that grants healing and ward save to all friendlies around him.
Recruited At:
-Laurelorn Forest for everyone

Hysperia, The Unyielding Storm: A star dragon with an aura that grants melee attack, weapon damage and splash attack power to all friendlies around her so long as she's in melee.
Recruited At:
-The Sacred Pools for Wood Elves
-Hexoatl for everyone else

Malaphax, The Cataclysmic End: A star dragon with a passive that grants healing, unbreakable, vigour loss reduction and weapon damage to himself only.
Recruited At:
-Gaean Vale for Wood Elves
-Tor Anlec for everyone else

Zafria, The Divine Seeker: A coatl with an aura that grants stalk, strider, and speed. She also has 3 bound spells.
Recruited at:
-Jungles of Chian for everyone

Ashlax, The Whispering Vengeance: A wyvern with a passive that grants him armour, melee defence, and physical resistance the more he kills.
Recruited at:
-Forest of Gloom for Wood Elves
-Zharr Naggrund for everyone else

Kaladon, The Celestial Redeemer: A Cathay dragon with an aura that grants bonus vs large, melee defence and expert change defence.
Recruited at:
-The Haunted Forest for everyone

What about the Warriors of Chaos/Ogres/Chaos Dwarfs?
Because these factions don't build normally, they're not able to access the landmarks. Instead, the dragons are simply added to the factions RoR pool, and unlocked once a lord reaches the required level. I know, it's not super fun or flavourful, but it saves me the hassle of making entirely unique landmarks for these factions. Perhaps in the future I'll give this mod a makeover.

That's the roster! Now I must clarify, this mod is by NO MEANS lore accurate. If having a frost wyrm in an Empire army, or a forest dragon in a Chaos army upsets you, then this is not the mod for you. I made this mod purely for fun, and so I could get creative with some cool dragons. I did try to balance them somewhat, but ultimately this mod is about fun above all, if that's not your thing then that's okay! There are probably lot's of other mods better suited to your taste!

Hi Trajann, Appreciate you following up and clarifying for me. I had the same issue when i conquered Kislev yesterday. It's unfortunate for this particular game but still enjoying the Wintertooth campaign regardless. I'll keep on eye on the RoR pool moving forward. Have yourself a nice holidays!! Cheers.

It seems to be an issue due to the newst patch. CA changed how Norsca builds settlements, now raising altars instead, which my mod currently doesn't work with. I'll likely have to move all dragons to Norsca's RoR pool instead, as I imagine all locations (not the just the one you mentioned) no longer support building the landmarks.

Gread mod, I've been using in all my WH3 games for several yeras now, Thanks!!
For some reason I can't bulid the landmark in The Monolith of Katam. I'm playing as Wintertooth, using Immortal Landmarks, Landmarks of Eternity and Landmarks of Legend. All landmarks in other provinces are active and aviliable. I've used this same combo in numerous prior games without issue. Acquring as many Dragons as possible is an important added objective that makes WH3 just that much better! Any thoughts or suggestions? Perhaps it has nothing to do with your Mod but I thought this would be a good place to start. And once again Thank You for this essental addition to WH3! Cheers.

Dragons are now available to Dechala and Aislinn via the RoR method.

Any advice for how to get started? More specifically for editing mods. I'd assume that your mod already has the dragons as ROR, then they have a flag that triggers for certain factions that removes them from the ROR pool until a certain building is built. If i there's an easy way to view the mod files and edit them, i might be able to remove the flag that removes them from the ROR pool.

Ultimately, it comes down to the fact that if I do one person's request, I'll have to start doing it for everyone. People will say "You did what that guy wanted, why won't you do what I want!" and that's a headache I'd rather avoid. Truthfully, if there's something about a mod you want changed, I'd emplore you to try and learn modding yourself. That way, you're free to change any mod however you please.

One last question and then I'll leave you alone (i promise) (probably). Do you just not like making submods (as in you would be more receptive if my idea was a seperate mod) or my idea would really only be used by a very small group of people, and so not really worth the effort
