Description:
Carved into a lush geopark currently laden with cherry blossoms, Alphard straddles the divide between the bustling Japanese city of Shimabara and the rugged volcanic slopes of Mount Unzen.

Development:
Alphard, like Cassandra and my other track Draco Cavernae, is a re-imagining of a track from the now-dead Wipeout fan-game SlipstreamGX. For this remake, I referenced the original SSGX version made in 2014, as well as Cassandra and my previous track Draco Cavernae. Besides adapting the general scenery vibe to BNG's aesthetic, I also increased the number of pink Sakura trees and omitted the original's lava cave, replacing it with the dark cave you see about half way through the lap. I also replaced the original's enclosed start grid with an umbrella setup inspired by Mega Mall from Wipeout 3. After I released Alphard in December of 2022, Neognosis recruited me to make tracks for the official game, and over the next 2 years I went on to create Alice Mountain, Forgotten Coast, and Atacama.
