SS Ohio

Here is the SS Ohio, an oil tanker built in 1940.

She had 7 other sister ships, all of them named after US states (Oklahoma, Kentucky, Colorado, Montana, Georgia, Delaware, and Indiana). During the Second World War, she was requisitioned by the UK to re-supply an island fortress in Malta. The action that made her famous was when she took part in Operation Pedestal, when she was carrying the most crucial supply item in the "Santa Maria Convoy", which was fuel for Malta. During the Operation, she was heavily damaged and hit so many times by bombs, torpedoes, and even planes during the voyage. Ohio survived all of these hits and successfully made it to Grand Harbour while being towed and escorted by 2 destroyers. Upon reaching the harbor, she eventually succumbed to her wounds and broke in two. The 2 halves of the ship were used for storage and barracks for the entire duration of the war, with the bow being sunk offshore and the stern being sunk in deep water after the war. In Malta's National War Museum, you can still see the ship's nameplate, wheel, and ensign.

Includes a "transparent" skin because... why not (the original texture file was transparent).
