The Ritual

描述

Overview:
The Ritual is a horror co-op mission designed for 1-9 players.

The focus is on an exciting story and a spooky atmosphere.
You play as an FBI task force in Michigan, USA, and go in search of an excommunicated priest who is connected to missing persons.

The approximate game length is 1½ to 2 hours.


Please note:
❗The voiceover and pictures are in German.

However, subtitles are in English by default.
For images, the most important key information is displayed in English via the "Read" button:


❗ Even as a solo player, this mission must be played in multiplayer mode.
To do this, host the mission locally in the server browser via the “Host Server” button.

❗The compatibility mod for Non-Owners is not required if you own the GM-DLC.

❗Since the compatibility mod between ACE and GM does not have a key, "verifySignatures = 0;" must probably be added to the "server.cfg" on a dedicated server.


Story:
The FBI has received numerous reports of missing people from different states. What is particularly special about this are the circumstances. All the people involved left an almost identical farewell letter, transferred all their money to an offshore account and burned or defaced their IDs.

Currently, all information points to Isle Royale, a large island in Michigan's Keweenaw County. Again, and again the investigators come across one name.
Maxwell Augustus Bishop, a former priest who was excommunicated from the church a few months ago.

Bishop previously travelled the United States performing exorcisms on behalf of the Church and was considered the expert in the field. But a few months ago, he seemed more devoted to the occult than the Christian faith. After being expelled from the church, he bought a derelict property south of the island's disused railway line. According to the few residents in this area, vehicles drove in more often but never out!

Langley decided to set up a task force to investigate the case. Due to the special circumstances, this case was assigned to the 'X-Files'.

Oh, das tut mir leid zu hören.
Die Mission ist schon etwas älter und legt, wie in der Beschreibung steht, eher Wert auf Atmosphäre und Story als auf besonders anspruchsvolle Situationen.

Damit der Gruselfaktor richtig rüberkommt, müssen die Spieler ab einem bestimmten Punkt zu Fuß weitermachen – beim Autofahren wäre dieser Effekt so einfach nicht aufgekommen.

Die 1–2 Stunden, die wir im Schnitt bei Spieleabenden gebraucht haben, liegen vor allem daran, dass man an ein paar Stellen Rätsel lösen musste – und ja, die langen Fußwege haben natürlich auch ihre Zeit gekostet.

Ich glaube nicht, dass ich die Mission in nächster Zeit noch einmal überarbeite, aber wenn du willst, kannst du mir gerne genauer sagen, was dich gestört hat. Dann versuche ich, solche Punkte bei zukünftigen Missionen zu berücksichtigen.

Was ist das denn für ein Müll?!!!! Haben uns sehr auf diese Mission gefreut und was bekommen wir? Einen trockenen fick ins Gesicht ... 1.5-2 Sdt spielzeit ?! Ja weil man nur ein mal 2km laufen muss, und auch dann hat man es nach 20min fertig gespielt. Bin wirklich sehr enttäuscht...

Thank you for playing the Mission and providing feedback!

For the final puzzle, you need to rotate the three sections of the stone pillar in the correct directions.

Here's a hint:
Look for a H-symbol on a nearby stone. One part of the stone pillar also has this H-symbol.
Rotate that part so that the H-symbols face each other.

The enemy waves will get progressively harder and will not stop until the portal is closed.
However, the enemies’ weak point is their head.

Played. TOP mission but some issues. We found the difficulty is too hard and also we couldn't close the portal and we lose the mission there. 9 players dead... What we have to do?? Please revise it, and explain the tasks it a little bit clear the tasks because we don't speak english very well because we are spanish. And also, medic couldn't work well because of ace mod. But, again, top mission with top atmosfear.

The map is called 'Podagorsk'.
Apparently, the map was removed from the Workshop.
Fortunately, someone else re-uploaded it.

I tested the new map and added it as a new requirement.

Mission is not show in MP missions. Please check it. I have the DLC and every mod. What map is it???

Hi Mr. E,
just click the subscribe button and download the required mods on the right side. (If you own the Global Mobilization DLC, you don’t need the compatibility mod.)

After that, you should be able to start the mission by hosting it in the server browser under "Host Server" and selecting the mission "The Ritual."
