~~ Lore ~~

The Pioneer II from Lagrange Interplanetary Motorworks differs from the first (non-public) version of the family in the form that this vessel is designed for light long-ranged combat, whereas the first vessel was an exploration flagship - built to head expeditions in the unknown. The first vessel is undergoing complete refits, and is not viable for sale as of yet.

Regardless, this light frigate acts as the current flagship of the Lagrange space fleet with all required services onboard - a full armory, primary and secondary mess halls, a medical bay, full reactor control room, a 3-deck engineering section, and a snub shuttle or fighter landing pad designed for the Avidan series of combat shuttles.

This vessel is not rated for any planetary or lunar flight. A full thruster suite was installed in field-testing units for atmospheric flight, but this drained too much power, took up too much space, and was rendered ineffective on top of all those downsides. The space taken by that module now fits armored jump drives, reactors, and an overflow storage unit.

In summary, this ship is primarily built to function as a territorial lockdown to protect trade routes and stations, or even be used to assault stations from afar - though due to its light armor, this would not be advised without a significant range advantage. Frequent stops are also a thing of the past with this vessel, as you have more than enough provisions and backup equipment to never have to dock outside of major repairs and uranium refueling. It is recommended to fly as part of a fleet, but this ship is fully capable of functioning independently while using a shuttle to go down to lunar or planetary surfaces.

~~ Real Talk ~~

I'm quite happy with this ship, although I had to cut back on interior detailing in the lowest deck due to performance issues with having the reactor lights *and* lots of decorations in the reactor control room - not that there's any reason to ever go down there, it's mostly decorative, so if it's a little bit of an eyesore you can kinda just block off those doors. The ship's just really big, so my GPU was killing itself until I went back and had to strip out a lot to get it to calm down. To combat what issues remain, I've put light switches in *most* rooms so that you can dynamically turn off particular areas that cause you grief.

Thank you! I was planning on totally redoing the interior at a later date, but I'm far too swamped right now to consider that. It's hard keeping a ship like this performance-friendly.
