Between 1968 and 1973, 500 container carrying cars are built for DB by the Lüttgens and Talbot companies, designated Lss-y 573 (later: Lgjs 573). On delivery, most of the cars are equipped with end shelves made of extruded aluminum profiles that allow forklifts to drive over them in a horizontal position. The end boards are removed in the mid-1980s. The last car is retired in 1999. The Lgs 580, on the other hand, is rebuilt between 1998 and 2000 from Hbis 297 (approx. 1,250 units) and Hbis 299 and is still in service today.
