Bennettites (Arborescent)

Bennettitales were a group of gymnosperm plants that dominated the earth during the Triassic and Jurassic periods, especially in Laurasia. They lost their dominance during the Cretaceous before going extinct sometime in the Cenozoic. Some were cycad-like in that they had just one or a few trunks, others formed divaricating shrubs. It seems that a few grew into medium-sized trees.
