描述
Palutena, Goddess of Light and ruler of Skyworld, descends to challenge the competition with a moveset heavily based off her Smash appearance.

Her wide range of tools allow her to control the tempo of battle and shine in many situations, shutting down all sorts of different opponents!

Moveset

  • Jump Glide (NSpecial) allows Palutena to rise into the air and float as long as the button is held down. She can drift left or right, but be careful, as she will start to descend slowly after some time. This move can only be used once in the air, so look out not to be hit offstage after using it!
  • Explosive Flame (Fspecial) calls forth a delayed explosion a set distance away from Palutena that hits multiple times before a powerful launching hit. Its position is decided at the very start of the attack, although it takes a while to start the explosion. If you quickly tap forwards as you use it, the explosion will take place slightly further away instead.
  • Warp (Uspecial) is a simple, quick teleport in any direction. It can't pass through solid ground, but if Palutena slides off the edge of a stage during the end of the move, she will actually not go into pratfall and be able to act immediately.
  • Reflect Barrier (Dspecial) summons a floating wall in front of Palutena. It can intercept projectiles from opponents and will fire back a medium-ranged laser that gets stronger based off the projectile it was hit by. In addition, if opponents get launched into it, it will pulse, hitting them away and possibly back towards Palutena. The wall can't be broken by projectiles, but melee attacks can eventually break it after 24% total damage, and Palutena will have to wait longer before she can use it again.

Extra
  • All spritework and coding are done by me.
  • Palutena has two taunts: normal taunt and down taunt.
  • Her Back Air and Dash Attack have a high amount of soft armor around the active frames, similar to how in Smash she has partial body invincibility.
  • Contains compatability for: Palutena's Guidance, Miiverse posts, and Mt. Dedede Stadium title.
  • I do not own the character, series, or victory music.

Oh, that's so cool I had no idea that was a thing! Thanks for telling, it works well with Palu's shield. I'm gonna try it out on other characters, keep up the good work.

That's actually a quirk of Rivals dash attacks in general (although some have you go forwards after and override the stop). It's pretty neat, yeah. You just hold down during your initial dash and attack, kind of like if you wanted to use a down tilt too early.

So there's this weird tech I found with Palu's dash attack. You can dash attack in place if you imput quarter circle forward/back instead of just forward/back. Basically just hold down and slide the control stick in the direction you want to dash. This is the most consistent method I've found to do it, think it might be useful. I'm not very creative so I'll just call it the dashless shield bash, DSB.

Been playing her a lot, excellent work. I thought she'd be worse off for not having the homing bullets n-special like her Smash ultimate form, but the jump glide is way more useful with a higher skill ceiling. Not quite Peach glide mechanic tier since that frees up a special spot, but still great.

You've been on a roll quality wise lately. Zeke is still my favorite, up there with BatBat and Blaziken. This Palu is a great translation.
