"Akina's Eight-Six"

The zenki Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno of Initial D fame, where it had its reputation solidified as Akina's downhill drifting machine.

  • Featuring CUSTOM DRIFT EFFECTS AND SOUNDS
    Simulating wheel skidding from sharp turns, high lateral velocity and braking at high speeds.

  • Press "T" to TOGGLE HEADLIGHTS
    Race safely on night maps, or pull of a Blind Attack(!!) for style points.



- Designed to be played on the Irohazaka and the Mt.Akina maps (NaCl² ver. - meowsandstuff ver.), the cars are tuned to handle high speeds and sharp corners.

- The key to a good drift is to drop to a reasonable speed before cornering - let go of the accel, maybe tap the brakes. I also recommend playing with the Minimap mutator and using the third person camera (press 'c') to see corners coming up. Most importantly, learn the car.


3 Variants are included in this pack:
- Trueno AE86
The classic Panda Trueno. A smooth drive for clean drifting. Highest top speed out of the cars.
- Trueno AE86 - Slip Tuning
Less traction, alongside faster acceleration and turn speed - for those who want to be flying sideways around every corner.
- Armored Tofu AE86
Ever wanted to inertia drift into battle? The 'Armored Tofu' model manufactured by MiliTofu Industries (Fujiwara Subsidiaries) has you covered. Coming with an MG turret, tofu camo and extra health, this car will get your squad to the objective - unscathed and on time.

For tactical(?) use, the cars have the same number of seats as the Jeep and Jeep MG.


- Notes on performance or bad audio -
If you run into any extended lag, skipping frames or choppy audio please first TURN V-SYNC ON.

@Low I think you can already shoot from the rear passenger seats, but if not, take a look at Panchuet's Armed Passengers mutator, it's pretty good.

Can you make a 762mm/.30 cal machinegun version for the armored trueno? The .50 cal just destroy everything lol.

Informative, accurate bug reports are really important info.
I always playtest a lot, but I don't have too much access computers aside from my own desktop and laptop - so bug reports from users using different hardware is super valuable.

I know that the accelaration / throttle audio can sound choppy to some users.

It's not a common issue, but I'd want to find out exactly what's causing it and why.

Does the car engine audio sound broken / stutter often?
Please tell me - drop a comment.

Then, can you try turning on V-Sync in the video settings and see if it helps at all.
If that doesn't work, try downloading the less performance intensive version of the mod (in the description) and see of the audio is better on that version.

If neither of the above work - PLEASE tell me in the comments.

@el presidente The armored version of the car already has double health. That said, I've updated it so that the armored version takes significantly less damage when crashing.
