The ES Zurich is an Ion Kite Cruiser by EuroSpace Industries. Armed with 12 Ion Beams with 8 aiming outlets sectioned into 2 prism batteries on either side of a powerful shield-neck, the cruiser is designed to quickly eliminate key systems on enemy ships. Adding to the Zurichs defenses are 3 point defense batteries à 4 PD-guns on each of its wings. 4 EMP Launchers complete its arsenal which is best utilized hovering just outside of opposing short range weaponry. However, at ~78m/s the Zurich is relatively slow for a kite and benefits greatly from an escort to either flank the enemy or draw enemy fire.

Crew: 228
Speed: ~76m/s (~78 reverse)
Price: ~1.380.000$

[Attention: The game currently has a missing feature where crew assignments are not copied along with loading the crew roles. That leads to broken ships. To work around, paste the ship in creative (do NOT create a grid first), then look at the assignments and memorize/take a screenshot. Then try to replicate assignments in career for a correctly working ship]

Update 15/11/22: Letters on the right were mirrored. xD
Update 17/11/22: Replaced the large side-thrusters in the back with a huge thruster for better orbiting. Made paint-job better.

Ah, so to upgrade to a design that has less crew than the previous ship, then you first have to transfer crew to another vessel, right? Good to know.

If gravy took a moment to read he would realize the ship gravy currently has is more crew than this ship has bunks for.

Oh ok. Perhaps blueprint mode is why the "Make Is So" is disabled. I will see how to get around that if you can. Thanks.

@YunggGravy: You're looking at the SUGGESTED crew size, not the actual crew size. In general you can ignore suggested crew size, because the game doesn't know how the builder plans to use and optimize the crew tasks. Often it is possible to create designs that run smoothly with half the suggested crew size.

That is odd because my screenshot clearly shows that the design is invalid and the crew required is 268. Do any game settings affect the ratio? I changed mine to standard and nothing changed.

@YunggGravy: 268?? No it should be 228. Updated the figure.

@Kleytenlive: Yes, but I don't know how to do it consistenly. The game is wonky in that regard. I know you can paste it in creative and it will have the right assignments and you can take a screenshot to replicate in career. Maybe you could also try making an empty grid in career and use the option "paste and replace" it there.

is it possible to import a wrkshop ship with the quarters for the crew assigned to the right crew? i can load the crew roles that you have on the ship but all beds are blue "operator"
