Here I am once again proud to release one of the most downloaded tactics on the Steam Workshop. Since 2017 the GoalMachine tactic has been downloaded over (1 Million) times and has always been at the top of the most downloaded. Previous versions can be found here: FM17, FM18, FM19, FM20, FM21, FM22. And today I release the first version of FM23. Please be aware that it is a first release, just a straight port from the FM22 game and I will work/update it more over the coming days/weeks, so please be patient and do give me your feedback - have fun!

More Info:

This tactic is made purely for goals high possession (based attacking) and at the moment it's doing just that. You can also use my Custom Corner Routines to work alongside the tactic. The tactic this year comes with the (Custom Corners) and (Custom Throw-Ins) built in.

Do not forget that the team needs to get familiar with the tactic before it starts working as it should, so please don't start complaining so early saying it doesn't work.

I suggest having good attacking support AMCs on the left and right of the main center-forward/striker OR both sides being forwards/strikers as well. The fullbacks, as usual, will be important in getting a lot of assists so make sure you have a good pairing on either side. The rest of the team is pretty much normal.

TIPS / Q&A
- Things will get way better upon the team being more familiar with the tactic.
- I have the match instructions done by the assistant, the same goes for the team training.
- Team talk is always important to be aggressive - it works, trust me ;)
- The fullbacks, left-sided midfielders, and left/right-sided attackers are the most important players to pick, it even works putting a decent AMR or AML on either side of the attack to support the central attacker.
- Push your team - aggressively encourage them during the match.
- My best outcome of the tactic so far position-wise is LB, RB, MCL, MC, ST, (STR & STL not for goals but assists) so my suggestion is to pick a good squad for the positions.

This is a tactic I have used since 2017 and it always worked. I can show you countless league wins, champions league wins, cup wins, world cup wins, and masses of records beaten by using this tactic. So now I'm sharing it with you, hope you like it.

Still the best tactic on FM hands down, playing as Liverpool and first season

1x FA Cup final (not played yet)

Be using it in FM24 too!

@angstema - do not forget that this year's FM23 has a new Match Engine (ME), a lot of reworks, and therefore a lot of changes in how the tactic worked. I am still playing around/tweaking it and will update it accordingly.

I use your tactic since gues it was FM2019 (but maybe it was FM2020). Every year your tactic was for me amazing, but something it's not working good for me in these FM2023 with your tactic. In the past editions the teams strikes a lot of goals and have also a good defense. It was possible to dominate the leagues with top clubs but also with 3/4 divisions clubs. In this FM2023 version i'm sure that it's not the same tactic (maybe it's not the same game). But i'm waiting, maybe you will update. Thank you so much for your GoalMachine in the past years and i hope to see the same in FM2023 ;)

@Facemelter - I assure you, it has always been (DLF & DRF) you may click the links in the description for the previous FM versions of this tactic and see it's always been like that. Though if you prefer to have Pressing Forwards then, by all means, change it to what suits you best and experiment to see if it works as intended.

I've used this for a couple of seasons and all this time I thought that two of the strikers were Pressing Forwards. Recently I've noticed that they are DLF's. Has this always been the case or has the tactic changed?

@Ghash - I usually ignore mate, tried that before and think it doesn't really make much difference. In my opinion at least, you are always free to try.

@Bucko - have you read the TIPS / Q&A? having the right kind of players to fit the positions or tactic is key, always has been, if not then change the position to what your player is suited to, though this could either break the tactic or make it work as intended. I am still playing around with it, thanks for your patience.

@Evergame Studios - the custom corners and throw-ins as explained in the description are already built in, check corners > attack (left or right). And then throw-ins > attack (left or right) as shown in the images.
