BRUNOHH1 - Hollywood Holocaust Remake (Street part)

Here is a "supposed-to-be high detailed remake" of the outdoor part of original Hollywood Holocaust map, adding a huge extension and some liberties taken to make the whole thing more "real". Though, I create this map from scratch. It's barely recognizable as the first Duke3d map except for the general layout.

I added lots of sprite work, shadows, easter eggs, secret area's that could be reached by performing some parkour and exploration.

There're also huge battles against tons of enemis, although some are very difficult and tactical in "Come get some" skill.

You will find tons of detail, some jokes and tributes to the community.

Beyond a shooting game and the classic search for access cards, the interest of this map relies rather in the search for the various alternative paths available to reach the nuke button. I've also tried to make as many things as possible interactive in the apartment, even if it's still very limited. So, try to "'use" everything you find in the apartment.

It is also fully playable with the classic duke3d.grp via Eduke32. (Beware of not using any mod with this map, simply play it with classic duke3d)

Play the map by using eduke32 with atomic ed. GRP package , not the megaton or world tour versions

Error Crash

I was only able to keep a few unfinished Maps that I will not publish (poor quality, undone map,...), in addition to the episode I'm working on at the moment. Today, the episode needs lots of work. I only have 3 maps for this episode (including this one "brunohh" and its sequel "brunohh2" - finished but still requiring patches and a better gameplay). But the episode will contain more maps if time lets me using mapster32. This episode, I will publish it only on the duke4.net forum, in a full package including the compatible eduke32 port, for more ease. Users will just need duke3d.grp to play it. On Steam, there're some issues : the grp versions differ, not the same compatibility with reworked *.Con files, and all this break certain aspects or effects of my maps.

May I ask if you have a lot of single-player maps? Can you put them on the platform?

My map has compatibility issue with duke 20th anniversary. I think everyone should try it on eduke32 (especially the one available on Nightfright's website "dukehrp"- but without using its hrp pack nor polymer. Indeed, I create this map on the old mapster32 version, and not on Duke 20th anniversary build assets. Moreover, you know, 20th anniversary version use special *.con coding files, those aren't use in my maps. And Build editor has about 8000 walls limits. Whereas mapster32 from eduke32 more than 16000 walls limits
(my map reach this limit).
So you should download eduke32, and copy past the map and play it in classic render (not Polymost or polymer HRP)

The game crashes like within 30 seconds to two minutes after starting unfortunately, no matter what :/ What a shame, the screenshots look like a lot of work went into this

Just finished your map on Come Get Some, excellent map design. I liked the little events and secrets you had spread around. The map had a really good feel of being lived in and had plenty to find and do on it.

Only 'critiques' that i have is the map was pretty glitchy, including the boss not loading properly and the red key card was a bit hard to find.

The glitches probably aren't even your fault, probably just my PC or game issue, solid 40mins of fun, thanks man!

Xris2613, red keycard is somewhere in the dark carpark ;) (try to find a little switch somewhere in the office)

I can't find the red keycard. I've explored all of the map except for the streets in the back which I can't reach because of an invisible wall.

Maybe you should try this map on eduke32?
