F-35B Lightning II

描述
Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II
by jwandel

The world's most technologically advanced fighter jet in real life, now in DCB!

Fully VTOL / STOVL capable, the B variant is equipped with a swivelling main engine, lift fan, and numerous other groundbreaking features.

(!) If you cannot run this craft, there is a low-detail version available at https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2883712184 (!)

-- Features --
VTOL / STOVL capability with 3-bearing swivel module and lift fan (!)
Glass cockpit with working display (!)
Functional sidestick, pedals, and throttle
Functional canopy
Flaperons, slats, all-moving tail
Advanced landing gear/door technology
Moving engine exhaust nozzle
Afterburner

-- Controls --

T: Toggle between normal flight and VTOL/STOVL mode
F/V: Adjust engine position
Z: Canopy
I/K: Pitch trim
H: Afterburner
G: Landing gear
N: Flaps
L: Lights
Pitch, roll, yaw: as assigned in user settings.

Takeoff speed: ~155mph/250kmh
Approach/landing speed: ~165mph/265kmh
Vno (normal operation limit): ~325mph/525kmh
Vne (never exceed): ~385mph/620kmh
Vfe (max. flaps extended): ~305mph/490kmh

As in real life, exceeding Vno MAY, and exceeding Vne WILL cause permanent structural damage to the airframe.

-- Usage/information --

- For VTOL/STOVL flight, first engage VTOL/STOVL mode by pressing "T". This opens the doors for the swivelling engine and the lift fan/exhaust, and changes control inputs (invisibly).
- Once VTOL/STOVL is engaged, press "V"/"F" to position the engine as you'd like.
- Advance throttle to 80-100%, and you will float off the ground. Use your normal keybinds to control the plane while hovering.
- To enter conventional flight from a hover, repeat the process in reverse-- "F" to return the engine to flat, "T" to disengage VTOL/STOVL mode.
- You may need some nose up trim ("K") depending on your airspeed when transitioning. Afterburner ("H") can help prevent a stall if you make a mistake.

- For normal flight, fly as you would any other plane. Take off with some nose up trim.

- Self-repair is on, but ONLY so the throttle and trim in the display don't break when stretched... if this bothers you... turn it off :)

Built and designed entirely by me (@jwandel#6224).
Help with main gear rigidity by @Tucker#6062, thank you to him.
Built over the course of ~1 week, estimated 25-30h build time.

Plenty more to come, thanks!
