Crane Miner Mk2

Based on hugely successful Mk1, this is a logical evolution.

Whereas Mk1 was designed as a short range miner, dependant on its mothership, Crane Mk2 is a long range individual prospecting and mining vessel. New version has huge hydrogen tank removed and resulting space is filled with nuclear reactors, a jump drive and ion engine drive system. Hydrogen drives are still present, but are used only when cargo containers are chock full with ores.

Basic model is equipped with standard 4 large fixed drills, however it is a common practice between miners to fit more drills onto existing ones, since conveyor system is capable of supporting more tools. Deep inside the hull, there is also a small survival kit, capable of healing a stranded miner, and meeting the basic crafting need for ship repairs.
