Happy Halloween!

During nineteen forty five a battle occurred between SS-troops and a Ragtag group of Americans, Germans and crazily enough a tennis player, and other french politicians- (And more). Grouped together they held against approximately 100-120 SS members in the castle. This map recreates this famous castle they fought in very faithfully, using lots of real pictures and floor plans. Despite the whole battle being pretty niche I wanted to recreate it, as it is one of the most interesting battles of the entire war. I hope you enjoy it. Sabaton also made a song about the battle that took place here, it's called "The Last Battle" which sounds epic.

  • Castle Itter itself
  • Few town houses outside of the castle
  • Underground dungeon
  • Small forest around the castle

Right now you cannot revert to the original Itter at night, but when I compile the map again for a final time I will include a night version as well

Fifth of May, V day is just around the corner
1945, the Führer's reign is at its end
Jenny at the gates, as the SS open fire
There's no time to waste, the final battle's begun
After the downfall, a castle besieged
Facing the Nazis awaiting relief
Gangl and Lee and their men set the prisoners free
And it's the end of the line of the final journey
Enemies leaving the past
And it's American troops and the German army
Joining together at last
One last fight, it's the death throes of the Third Reich
Justice shall be done, the final battle remains
Ammo is running low, they're depleting their machine guns
Every bullet counts until surrender's announced

Fantastic map!

The American Company Major Josef Gangl made contact with also had a Sherman Tank called "Besotten Jenny" The Company Commander, Captain John Lee, had a total of 4 tanks, but 2 remained with the rest of the company and a third was left to guard a bridge on the way there, Unfortunately Besotten Jenny was knocked out by an 88mm cannon and Major Gangl died heroically as he was protecting the former French Prime Minister and attempting to get him to safety.

Also @Bubbles - Any chance of AI nodes in the future?
