The ODS-417 is a multirole flight platform used primarily in combat zones or with military fleets. Equipped with a multistage thrust package, it can operate on planets, in space, and on moons. Pressurized interior allows the occupants to travel long distances with ease and if necessary, even travel between planets if forced to.

Equipped with two forward autocannons and 4 autocannon turrets, the ODS-417 can offer surpressive fire in hostile environments while also ferrying a squad to an intended location. Smaller frame allows the craft to touchdown even in urban environments. While seeing most of it's use on Pertam, the color scheme of the craft has officially adopted the sandy color native to the planet. It is now the default color this ship is produced with.

Interior spacing allows for up to 4 seated passengers and a pilot with room for more to stand if needed. Access to cargo box under each seat allows crew to stow personal effects up to a given volume and two weapon racks offer plenty of space for weapons and ammunition.

While lacking a survival kit, it is able to function as a medical transport given the ease of access ground door located on the port side. Step stair and hand rails offer additional ease for access.

Open cockpit design allows pilots an nearly unrestricted view of the flight path with displays that can be turned on and off as needed provided additional information to keep them in the control of all onboard systems.



Ship Lore:
The ODS-417 is one of several products developed by [HDI] after an encounter with [ONRC] within the Artemis System. The rapid technology advancement was due to pressure from a potentially hostile neighbor. Currently, there are several dozen of these across the system operating in various capacities. The first one fielded officially was nicknamed Desert Wyvern by its pilot and was in operation for nearly 20 years before finally being shot down over Iliad range in Pertam airspace. It was recovered and rests in a hangar for retired aircraft as part of the heritage project sponsored by [HDI]. It has become a favorite among mercenary groups, military pilots, and even some civilian market trends have been focusing on the drop craft in recent years. Disarmed, of course. The rugged and sturdy frame allows the occupants to survive if shot down, assisted by auto deploy parachutes making this a 'go-to' for diplomats, government personnel, and the wealthy alike.
