Hemofungus

描述
Cultivate fungus that bleed from the soil, to feed your hemogenic pops!

Originally intended to scratch an itch of mine regarding Hemogenic xenos. Particularly:
  • The lack of alternatives for ethical or moral Sanguophages besides human cattle, or relying on the fear generosity of their group to keep up hemogen reserves.
  • The fact that non-Sanguophage hemogens play similarly despite a variety of media and creative concepts on bloodsucker xenos.
  • The curious lack of blood-based occult ecosystems.

Now with this mod you are able to grow hemogen-potent mushrooms! However, they are not easy to cultivate. They may prove to be valuable for larger hemogenic populations, (e.g blood-based germline xenotypes that needs a bit of blood per day to survive) or moral vampires.

In any case, one harvest is enough to stave off the blood hunger of less blood-starved hemogenic xenos for 1 day. For the more blood-thirsty vanilla Sanguophages though, they will require more than 1 harvest to stave off a day's worth of Hemogen decay, due to their more advanced power and blood needs.

In addition to eating raw, you can make Hemofungus based meals which provide both nutrition for pawns and Hemogen gain for Hemogenic pawns! Vegetarian meals included!

A couple months late, but I think I know what was causing @Comet's issue. Hemofungus has 140% fertility requirement. You can choose it at any field that is in darkness, but they won't sow it if the ground is not rich soil.

It will work for other vampire types, just none of the special hemogen buffs.

I did see that but i meant do other hemo types benefit. So an animal feeder eats it do they gain animal hemo.

Anyone can eat the hemofungi or the hemogenic meals – even if character is not hemogenic.

So curious. Does this work for other types? In my colony I have one that feeds of animals another that feeds of bodies and another on other vampires.

It works with the Self-lit hydroponics bay mod, but because it uses light I cant grow it in the hydro. But with normal soil, Doesnt work. I'll try disabling the hydroponics mod and see if that changes anything.
