The Spartan Trials

This mod allows you to interact with children from your dynasty 13 to 15 years old and send them to undergo what I call "The Spartan Trials". Inspired by what, according to the movie 300, the young spartans have to face when they grow up.

Children you send to perform the Trials will spend one whole year in the wilderness by themselves with minimal provisioning. If they survive, this will toughen them up and reshuffle their personality traits the following way:


In addition, if they are delicate or weak, they lose those traits.


There is roughly a 37% chance that the kid will come back ill, wounded or permanently injured.

There is also about 15% chance that the kid will die a horrible death.


You can now let the kid choose between undergoing the trials and losing their inheritance.
Their decision will be influenced by the traits they had developed by the time they were made to choose.

When a kid is forced to undergo the Trials, they gain -60 opinion of you that decays over 10 years.

If the kid has a say in it and they choose to go, they still hate you for -60 but that decays faster, over 5 years.

If the kid chooses not to go and is therefore disinherited as a consequence, they gain a permanent -75 opinion and may become your rival, but you don't get the prestige and renown penalties for straightway disinheriting someone.
