Sami Zayn entered the WWE system in 2013 after over a decade of building up a strong following as the masked eEl Generico.

Zayn became a fan favorite in NXT in short order and became the brand's champion in late 2014. However, his reign only lasted two month as he was defeated by longtime friend and rival, Kevin Owens. The careers of Zayn and Owens have been intertwined, and the two have been battling each other in the ring for over 20 years.

The three-time Intercontinental Champion has long been considered a strong in-ring performer, and his character work in the WWE, especially as of late, has solidified Zayn's place amongst the very best in the wrestling business.
